Quote of the Day – Have you learned your lesson?

Hello beautiful people! We’ve almost made it to Friday! That’s right! It’s hump day!!! I hope you all are having a productive week, and no matter where you are, I really do hope you are happy! Without going any further, I really do want to send positive vibes and thoughts and prayers to the many workers impacted by the United States partial government shutdown. If a deal doesn’t get met by this Friday, over 800,000 workers will not receive a second paycheck. This is sad, embarrassing, and I hope it comes to an end soon. And on that note, let’s give you the Tea for the week!

I don’t know about you, but sometimes (especially when I was younger) it took me a while to learn a lesson. It was a normal day in my house to hear my parents say multiple times, “don’t touch that”, “watch for that”, “that’s not safe”. But did I take heed the first time they said something? Not at all. And because I didn’t learn the first time, I was punished when it happened again, causing my parents to try to teach me the same lesson yet again. Why do you think I didn’t listen? Was I deaf? Did I not hear them the first time? Did I understand them completely? Was I not aware of the consequences? Or did I just not care? Honestly, it was probably a mixture of all of those things. But sooner or later I learned my lesson, maybe two or three times later, and I wouldn’t do it again.

So I’m not surprised that is the case now that I’m older and I have to learn different lessons. Some of those lessons are taught to me by the universe, partners, friends, and even strangers. I always know when I didn’t learn my lesson the first time if I find myself in the same bad situation as I was in before. If I handled the situation the same as before that didn’t have a good outcome, I knew right at that moment I didn’t learn my lesson. We all know the old quote, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.” That couldn’t be more true. If we continue to get ourselves in to the situations with no different outcome, what have accomplished? I can tell you that it’s absolutely nothing.

I’m challenging each of you to not make the same mistakes over and over again. If you’ve made a turn that doesn’t get you anywhere the other way, try going in the opposite direction. You might surprise yourself. I hope you all have a great week and don’t forget to spread some PositiviTea!
