Happy Hump day you beautiful souls! I hope you all are having a good week so far and ready to get through this hump day so you can end it on a high note! Before I go any further into today’s post, I do want to recognize that in the U.S. it is the anniversary of the tragic event that happened on 9/11. So many lives were impacted that day and we know that even now it’s still not easy to go on. But my heart is with you all and I hope that for anyone reading today’s PositiviTea quote of the day post, that you’re able to be uplifted.
Have any of you ever been on a sailboat? I personally have not, but I hear that the wind can be bit of a b____! You basically have to either go with the wind, or adjust the sails and steer the boat in the direction that you want to go in. I feel like life is a lot like being in a sailboat. We have the wind, aka life, coming at us and hitting us with all sorts of things. It may be bill collectors calling. It may be a new baby on the way. Or maybe it’s moving to a different place. In any case we can control these things that are happening around us and to us. But we can adjust our sails, aka our attitude, and actions to make sure that we move in the right direction to reach our destination.
Is it easy? I would be lying if I said yes. Just think about adjusting the sails of a sailboat. That’s not easy, so why would you adjusting your own sails be? But in order to make it to your destination in your own time and by your rules you’re going to have to do it. I’ve been told that this quote reminds them of when people say, “if you can’t change the situation, change the way you respond to it.” I completely agree. Most of the time when situations arise, we can’t do anything about it but make up in our minds how we’ll react. That’s the only we know for sure that we can control.
So I want to challenge you when the wind starts to move you in a different direction, to simply adjust your sails and don’t get worried by what you can’t control. I hope you all have a great end of the week, and don’t forget to spread some PositiviTea!
