Happy Hump Day beautiful people! I hope you’re having a good day so far and that you’re ready to have an even better weekend. I can’t go any further in this post without acknowledging the tragedy that occurred on Sunday. One of the greatest basketball players in the world, Kobe Bryant, his oldest daughter Gianna, and 7 others died in a helicopter crash in California. This news has impacted so many people, not just because of who was involved, but also because it’s makes everyone realize how short life is. So what better way to remember the Black Mamba and hopefully do what I can to cheer those up that are feeling sad, than to use one of his quotes for this week’s PositiviTea?
Let’s break it down. “Life is too short to get bogged down and be discouraged.” Ain’t that the truth? Seriously! If anything can be learned from this weekend, it’s that you can leave out of your house like you normally do, and not return. No one can determine when their last day on this earth will be. However, we can decide not to get discouraged and do what we can to make the most out of life. That’s what Kobe Bryant did, and what he encouraged everyone around him to do.
“You have to keep moving. You have to keep going.” Simply put, you can’t stop. You are going to have situations that come up in your life that will hinder you from wanting to continue fighting. Perfect example is death. It hurts. You feel as though you will never be able to move on. You’re grieving, and that’s perfectly normal. With that being said, you also can’t stop living life. You have to push through and and keep going. If you’re a mother, you have to do it for your children. If you have a spouse, you have to do it for your partner. But more than anything you have to do it for yourself. You deserve to live your best life and make the most of it.
“Put one foot in front of the other, smile and just keep on rolling.” This part of the quote just makes me smile because, well, I like to smile. Obviously! 🙂 Considering this is something I try to do every day, this sentence really resonates with me. I believe that many people take smiling for granted. One, it’s very contagious, and two, it feels so good! Verywellmind.com actually listed “smiling relieves stress” as their second reason for why you should smile every day. I couldn’t agree more. As I say in a lot of my posts, this is easier said than done, so just know that it takes practice.
As I wrap up this post, I just want you to cherish your love ones while you can. You truly can be here one day and gone the next. Remember that today, and every day after, and try to spread some PositiviTea.
