Happy Hump Day beautiful people! We have almost made it to the end of another week in quarantine! I can only hope that you all are staying positive, maybe reading some old PositiviTea blog posts, and doing some deep mediation to stay in high spirits. It can be a difficult time if you’re on your own, and even if you’re not on your own. But however you are feeling, know that there are over a billion others on this earth feeling the exact same way.
If you would have asked me a year or six months ago, if I thought that in the first half of 2020 would I be spending time in quarantine, I guarantee you that my answer would have been,”Hell no!” This is so crazy, that every other day I find myself pinching my arm, because I think I’m living in a movie. Six feet from loved ones. Masks on everywhere you go. Empty parking lots. Empty highways. Idiot government leaders and idiot press briefings. Some of the best writers couldn’t make this up. But here we are. We have to push through and still stay optimistic. It’s like I’m asking for the impossible right? Trust me I know.
However, I realized a long time ago that I can’t allow circumstances to control my peace of mind. I refuse to allow the government to put me or my mind in a state of panic because that’s what they’re doing. I won’t go into depression. I won’t get angry at the world. I won’t lash out on those that love and care about me. I won’t lash out on myself. Instead I will take this moment to do some inner soul searching. I’ll take this moment to do a wellness check. I’ll take this moment to do a career and personal growth check. I’ll take this moment to do a physical check. I’ll do everything else except anything that threatens to take away my peace of mind. Even though we have all the time in the world for a lot of things, I don’t, and you shouldn’t, have time for that!
So what will you check on during this time? When was the last time you did any of the checks mentioned above? Have you done a happiness check lately? I challenge you over the next week to do some check-ups and encourage those around you to as well. I’m sure you’ll be surprised at what you may find. Enjoy the rest of your week and don’t forget to spread some PositiviTea!
