Happy Hump Day you beautiful people! I hope you all are staying positive during these crazy times and finding healthy ways to take care of your mental health. If you’ve been reading my posts recently you’ve known that it has been harder than usual to stay positive. Having to keep reminding myself and friends that things will get better is one of the most challenging things I’ve had to do lately. But I refuse to be down, and was most recently told that it’s good to be a “reckless optimist.” So, I’m taking them up on that.
A closed-door does not mean that your dreams are closed as well. You may have to read that again. I’ll wait…. Maybe that just wasn’t the door that you were supposed to open. Have you ever watched a movie and saw someone walking down a long hallway trying to open multiple locked doors and none of them would open? But then, when they had almost given up hope, one of them opened and it was exactly the right room for them to walk into? I feel like that is what life is. Our life is nothing but us in these long hallways, and we’re walking in and out of doors. Maybe we open a door that has us entering a new relationship. We may be in that room for a while or it could be short, and we’re back in the hallway looking for the perfect door to open to help us find what we’re looking for. There could be a door that you open that leads you to the career of your dreams, but you have other aspirations that cause you to explore other doors to help you grow, inspire others, or follow your bliss. Sometimes it’s in that same room and sometimes it’s in another. Or just maybe there’s been multiple doors that you’re opening that don’t seem to have what you’re looking for. So you spend most of your life in the hallway searching for that one door that will open you up to the world that you’ve only imagined.
I’m here to tell you that you will not be walking forever. You will, however, open the door that is meant for you and only you! Life is full of closed doors and it is up to us to open them up and make what’s inside great. It’s understandable to be disappointed when you don’t get to open up a door that you thought was meant for you. Just know there are many other doors, and just because the door changes, that doesn’t mean your dream does. Your dream will live on no matter what door you have to open or close. If you remember that, that disappointment will fade soon enough.
I love you all and hope that you’re able to find some PosivitTea in your day as well as your door to open!
